With a floor area of 4,700m2 , Kildare Primary Care Centre is one of the largest purpose-built primary care centres in the country. The 3-storey building provides a wide range of community-based services, such as: GP services, audiology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, mental health services and public health nursing. The centre was designed as a low energy building using dynamic simulation software to maximise the use of natural ventilation and daylighting. This A3-energy rated building is heated using high efficiency air-to-water heat pumps. The project was completed over 2 phases with Phase 1 comprising 3,300m2 and Phase 2 1,400m2.
