BERNARD SMITH
Managing Director
Bernard is one of the founding Directors, and current Managing Director of Bernard Smith Consulting Engineers. He is a well-respected Chartered Engineer with over 23 years’ extensive experience in designing innovative and energy efficient Mechanical, Electrical and Sustainable solutions for: healthcare centres, hotels, sports facilities, residential buildings and a variety of other building types.
Bernard leads his team in all of their tasks at BSCE and they work together to complete detailed, top quality designs on time and within budget. He prides himself on maintaining strong client relationships through these successes.

SONJA SMITH
Director / Financial Controller
Sonja is a co-founding director and financial controller of Bernard Smith Consulting Engineers. She is involved in the day-to-day financial running of the company.

MARC LENNON
Senior Mechanical Engineer
With over 30 years’ experience as both mechanical design engineer and project manager, Marc works comfortably within multi-disciplinary design teams from the initial brief and budget preparation stages through to the practical completion and client handover.
Working within both Irish and International consultancy design offices, he has a wide range of experience, working on projects in: manufacturing, commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, retail and residential sectors. Marc’s experience facilitates his strong abilities to complete detailed designs on time, and within budget and, through constant engagement with the program schedule and resource management for projects. He will always ensure clients get the best value for money.

CHRISTOPHER LINS
Senior Electrical Engineer
With over 12 years’ experience in the Building Services industry, Christopher is responsible for the design, specification and project management of electrical building services installations for the hospitality, healthcare, residential, commercial, private, public and retail sectors.
He brings a broad knowledge of design options to clients that are interested in pursuing low carbon and sustainable systems and has been heavily involved in the design of some of our LEED “Gold” and BREEAM “Excellent” projects.

SARAH MONAGHAN
Office Manager / Energy Assessor
Sarah manages the day-to-day running of our busy office in Bracetown, planning and implementing practices and procedures to create a focused and efficient work space for our team. Sarah constantly evaluates and adjusts activities in-house, to improve and maintain efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity.
In addition, Sarah is a Building Energy Assessor for BSCE, and she is regularly visiting sites, assessing the energy performance of buildings and preparing advisory reports to identify how the energy performance of buildings can be improved.

RAPHAEL VILLA
BIM/CAD Technician
Raphael is a detail oriented CAD/Architectural Technologist at BSCE. With over 10 years’ experience in the construction industry, Raphael has worked on a wide range of building projects including healthcare, residential developments, offices, retail and refurbishment works.
Raphael has an excellent understanding of the construction processes, completing fully coordinated M&E design models using the latest AutoCAD/Revit software packages.

MARIA BRAVENDER
Accounts Manager / Administrator
Our Accounts Manager, Maria manages all aspects of our payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial accounts, compliance and general financial administration.
Maria also provides extensive support to the inhouse Engineering Teams and Management. This includes preparation of tender applications, and preparation and tracking of project documentation.
